DilPie ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use the DilPie mobile app and website ("Services"). By using DilPie, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information: name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth
- Profile content: profile photo, bio, city, interests
- User-generated content: posts, reels, stories, comments, messages, soul cards, DIL chat history
- Voice input: speech transcripts when you talk to DIL by voice, hold-to-record voice messages, or use voice typing. The audio itself is transcribed on-device by the operating system's speech recognizer; only the resulting text is sent to our servers.
- Communications: feedback, support requests, reported content
Information collected automatically:
- Device information: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage data: features used, time spent, interactions, search queries
- Location data: city-level location (only if you choose to share it)
- Log data: IP address, crash reports, performance data
Information from third parties:
- If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the DilPie Services
- Personalize your feed and content recommendations
- Send you notifications about activity on your account
- Process transactions and manage your subscription or karma points
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activity
- Comply with legal obligations
- Communicate with you about updates, promotions, and new features (with your consent)
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With other users: Your profile, posts, and stories are visible to other DilPie users according to your privacy settings.
- With service providers: We use Supabase (database/auth), MSG91 (OTP delivery), and cloud storage providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
- For legal reasons: If required by law, court order, or government authority.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified).
4. Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase, hosted in regions compliant with applicable data protection laws.
- We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) to protect data in transit.
- We implement access controls, rate limiting, and security monitoring to protect against unauthorized access.
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide services and comply with legal obligations.
5. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete information (via Profile Settings in the app)
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (see Section 6)
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your information
- Withdraw consent: Opt out of marketing communications at any time

6. Account & Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account and personal data at any time.
Data deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Account deletion requests are processed within 7 days. Certain data may be retained for legal compliance purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
DilPie is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@dilpie.com.

11. DIL Voice Assistant
DIL is an AI companion built into DilPie. This section explains exactly what happens when you talk to it.
How DIL works:
- Voice is transcribed on your phone. When you talk to DIL, the audio is processed by your phone's built-in speech recognizer (Google on Android, Apple on iOS). The audio itself does NOT leave your device — only the resulting text transcript is sent to our servers.
- DIL runs on DilPie's own infrastructure. Replies are generated by an open-source language model (Qwen) hosted on our own Railway servers. We do NOT use OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, or any other third-party AI vendor. Your conversations are not used to train external models.
- Chat history is stored to sync across your devices. Your DIL conversations are saved in our database (per-user, RLS-protected) so they reappear when you reinstall or switch phones. Older messages auto-delete after 90 days or 5,000 messages per user, whichever comes first.
- Live-data queries. When you ask DIL for news, weather, Wikipedia facts, or web search results, DIL fetches those from public APIs (RSS, Open-Meteo, Wikipedia REST, DuckDuckGo). Those services may log the query under their own privacy policies; we do not pass your account identity to them.
Wake-word listening (optional, off by default):
- You can opt in via Settings → Wake-word listening. When ON, the app keeps a foreground speech recognizer active while you have the app open, listening for "Hey DIL" or "DIL activate".
- The recognizer only processes audio when the app is in the foreground. Closing or backgrounding the app stops listening.
- No audio is recorded or uploaded. Only the transcribed text of recognised wake-phrases is processed locally to decide whether to open DIL.
- You can disable this any time from Settings.
Auto-actions (voice-to-post, voice-to-DM):
- When you ask DIL to "take a photo and post" or "reply to Anil saying…", DIL performs that action on your behalf using the same publishing/messaging APIs as the manual UI. Posts always pass through the same moderation pipeline as regular posts. You get a 3-second cancel window before anything is published.
Your controls:
- Delete a single conversation: open DIL → threads drawer → trash icon.
- Delete all DIL chat data: same as your account data deletion path (see section 6).
- Turn wake-word off: Settings → Wake-word listening.
- Turn voice off entirely: deny microphone permission in your phone's system settings — DIL still works via text typing.
